precare & aftercare

precare

please book your patch test 24–48 hours before your appointment. if you choose not to have a patch test, you do so at your own risk and accept responsibility for any allergic reactions or adverse effects.

please do not book if you are taking blood thinners, accutane / roaccutane / isotretinoin, or any strong oral acne medication. you may need to wait 2–3 months after completing your course before booking.

please stop using active skincare ingredients 2 weeks before your appointment, including retinol, tretinoin, retin-a, differin, aha’s, bha’s, azelaic acid, niacinamide, vitamin c, benzoyl peroxide, hydrocortisone cream, and any peeling or resurfacing products.

if your treatment includes bleach, please make sure you have not threaded, waxed or plucked your brows for at least 6 weeks before your appointment.

please do not book if you have had a chemical peel or microdermabrasion, or experienced sunburn, eczema or psoriasis around the eye area within the last 2 weeks.

treatments at valora are not suitable during pregnancy, so please do not book if you are pregnant.

please arrive with clean brows, free from makeup, skincare, oils or other products around the brow area.

please do not book if you have any of the following: allergies, diabetes, heart conditions, high or low blood pressure, epilepsy, varicose veins, or if you are currently undergoing or have recently undergone radiotherapy treatment.

if you have any other medical conditions, take regular medication, or are unsure whether a treatment is suitable for you, please contact valora before booking.

aftercare

your brows and lashes need time to fully settle, so following the aftercare will help maintain your results and keep them healthy.

avoid water, steam, hot showers, saunas and intense workouts for the first 24 hours to allow the treatment to fully set.

you can still perform wudhu as normal. when drying your face, gently tap your brows rather than rubbing them.

try not to touch, rub or scratch your brows or lashes, especially during the first few days. unnecessary touching can cause irritation, affect the shape and reduce the longevity of your results.

avoid applying makeup, creams or oils directly around the brow or lash area for the first 24 hours.

use a gentle, non-oily cleanser around the area. avoid active ingredients for at least 36 hours, including aha’s • bha’s • retinol • vitamin c.

after the first 24 hours, apply a small amount of castor oil or jojoba oil to your brows daily to keep them nourished, soft and healthy.

gently brush your brows into place with a clean spoolie each day. you can style them while they are slightly damp to help keep them neat and in shape.
